"Don't look down. Κeep staring like you've never seen the stars..."

"'Red' was on the radio during the ethnic cleansing problems in Europe and one guy had lost his whole family. He's now a waiter in London. He told me that song helped him through losing his family in a really horrific manner. I think once you put the songs out there, they become other people's anyway."

"It was a short story that I was writing. The rhyming scheme of "McGreggor" is the same sort of meter as old folk songs - not even folk songs, but folk poetry. It's kind of a lost form, the storytelling... So yeah, I was writing this folklore story about this old landowner called McGreggor, who after his death, people found out what he was really like, you know, to some people he was a kind employer and a good father, and to some people he was a gangster behind the scenes - complete fiction. And I was in the middle of penning this when we were working on the song "Picky Bugger". And we used ProTools, the recording software. And there's a button on the keyboard that plays back what you’re listening to at half the speed. And Craig Potter accidentally hit the button and it started playing "Picky Bugger" half the speed. And I started realizing that the meter of what I was writing fit perfectly over it! And I walked into the middle room and yelled over it. We recorded that, and then added all the instrumentation afterwards. It was written and recorded in about an hour and a half."

"I'd love to collaborate with Bjork. I think she's amazing. And I'd like to duet with Kate Bush, just because she feels like one of my older sisters, almost."

"I really hope that our music carries on being spread through word of mouth, much rather than being hyped. We've never been hyped, but we’ve never been harshly criticized either. That's fine by me."
