"I don’t write songs and then immediately record them. With 'Sweet Heart Sweet Light', I wanted to come up with ideas, and then write them into songs. My main goal was to write pop songs, to end up with music that had great clarity to them, music that wasn’t hiding behind any type of stylistic, lo-fi distortion."
